What about the falsifying of goverment orders, the accounts no-one ever opened and the deceiving conversations in order to groom products?

How you work for such an organistation has got me. You are falsifying information in order to sell more products. That breaks more rules than you can poke a stick at. I'd quit If I were you, before the place is shut down.

It's not just in the papers. If you Google "The Better Image' you'll find plenty of stories and complaints like these.

Gary, do you believe everything you read in the papers? The police have investigated. The Better Image is in the clear. There is nothing illegal about providing a product or service and charging an agreed price for it. Its also fine to provide promotional items, "And a free set of steak knives" sound familiar?

The people who are at fault here are the public servants. They should do their homework in regards to price and they are not aloud to accept un declared gifts. Like a lot of public servants they are just being lazy and don't give a crap about your and my money. That's why the public servants that have been caught in this are being sacked and sued.

As for not wanting to accept telemarketing calls, add yourself to the donotcall register. Job done. But how would you like it if your potential customer base was "blocked". Its costing a lot of jobs in this industry!

I just had the exact same company call me just moments ago. After reading this article, I'm very pleased I didnt allow them the opportunity to get to their sales pitch. The "consultant" was such a rude little that I hung on him.

I suggest you do a little research about your employer and in particular click the link in the article which leads to the article in The Age which explains why your employer is the subject of an investigation. I think most people are polite to telemarketers, but some can be particularly insistent and/or ring multiple times - at which point it can become annoying, particularly when you are trying to run a small business and receiving multiple calls every week.

I actually work at the better image. ive been working there for 3 months and im 18 years old. with the job i pay my rent, buy food, pay bills etc. I sit at a desk and call numbers from the yellow pages, not a magical database that you seem to think call centres use. next time you abuse a telemarketer remember there real people making a living just like yourself.next time someone rings, politely say "sorry but im not interested" and hang up. its not that hard. not to mention its obviously part of your job to handle calls like this so be a little more proffessional.

Yes, I have noticed a lot of emails like this myself lately.
The latest version of Thunderbird has a scam alert message that it shows when you open said email as it checks the headers of the email.
